The Fall had two stints with Rough Trade Records before and after their time with Kamera - tracks from the Rough Trade releases were compiled on 's Palace of Swords Reversed, 's The Collection, 's The Rough Trade Singles Box, and the same year's two-CD set Totally Wired.

Calling this collection absolutely essential damns it with faint praise. A near-perfect compilation of the Fall's early-'80s singles minus a track or two ("Lie Dream of a Casino Soul" and "Look, Know," in particular), plus most of the Slates EP, Palace of Swords Reversed serves up .

ticentfoolridiscprat.miclidicsekareteterogliraci.co By far the best place to begin with the Fall, Palace Of Swords Reversed is a collection of tracks from the period to commonly regarded as their most wildly original and (artistically) successful. The emphasis is on the less wilful, more immediate and direct stuff: singles such as "Totally Wired" and "How I Wrote Elastic Man", relentless, niggling riffs and a singular 4/5(1).
